Opportunity: We are currently seeking an active CPA Candidate with experience in public practice. Our firm is a Pre-Approved Program Provider for the Practical Experience component of earning your CPA designation.

Job Specifications:

To be eligible for this position, you must currently be enrolled in the CPA Preparatory Program or have passed the CFE exam and are needing to gain your practical experience to receive your CPA designation. Experience in preparing Compilation Engagements independently is required.

Responsibilities:

Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and assist with Compilation Engagements; including the preparation and review of working papers, financial statements, and management letters in accordance with firm standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support with Review and Audit Engagements; including assisting with planning and risk assessment, identifying significant issues, and developing tailored audit approaches
  • Handle complex personal and corporate tax files
  • Oversee bookkeeping and GST filings for various clients
  • Preparation of T4 & T5 Summary and Supplementary forms, T1 Personal Tax Returns
  • Communicate directly with clients to resolve issues, present findings, and maintain strong relationships

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Enrollment (or completion) of CPA Preparatory Courses
  • 1-2 years public accounting experience (required)
  • Experience with Review and Audit Engagements preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE, corporate tax, and personal tax
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to work independently on compilation and tax files
  • CPA Designation by the end of 2026

Pay:

$40,000.00 – $50,000.00 annual salary depending on experience

This position as CPA Candidate is full time, permanent for the duration of the candidate’s pathway to writing and passing the CFE exam, completing the required experience and receiving designation with the potential to extend to a permanent staff position.
